The Bamboo Ply-board panels we carry is made from 100 percent rapidly renewable bamboo sourced and manufactured in China, using adhesives that are both strong and emissions free.
Bamboo Ply panels can be cut and sanded using conventional woodworking equipment. It can also be glued or mechanically fastened using the same materials and fasteners commonly used with wood. Bamboo is a low resin, open grained material that takes stains and finishes exceptionally well.
Bamboo Ply comes in both a coffee colour and natural light tone and is laminated to produce three uniquely different surface grains i.e. vertical (edge up) and Horizontal (flat) and strand-woven compressed, which presents more like a traditional timber where the bamboo knots are not as prominent as they would appear on the vertical and horizontal structures.
The vertical grain appears as 1/4” strips and the horizontal grain appears as 3/4” strips on the surface of the Bamboo Furniture Board. It is then finish-sanded to a smooth 180 grit.
In the instances of the vertical and horizontal structures the panels are cross laminated to ensure structural integrity.
The number of layers would be determined by the thickness of the panels – ranging from 2 to three layers.
The urea-based adhesive used in the manufacturing of other Style Plantation bamboo flooring products, flooring accessories, and stair parts, as well as Style Plantation’s bamboo panels and veneer*, has a formaldehyde off-gassing limit averaging 0.0155ppm, 48 times lower than OSHA standards, 6.56 times lower than E1 standards.
*The adhesive used in the manufacturing of Style Plantation’s .6mm bamboo veneer consists of 0.008142ppm; 92 times lower than OSHA standards allow, 12.49 times lower than E1 standards.
All of our products are well below OSHA standards of .75 PPM-parts-per million for formaldehyde.

Intended uses as architectural woodwork or casework may include cabinetry, furniture, interior panelling, counter tops, and any other interior application where wood products have traditionally been used.
